What I shot in Greece
Spring Flowers in Kambos (between Eresos and Skala Eresou) on Lesvos. This was the first time I'd been there late March/early April time. I had thought the May poppies wonderful, but just could not believe the swathes of flowers in olive groves and roadside areas that little bit earlier.
How I Did It
Walking with a group of local ex-pats & visiting friends on our regular Sunday morning jaunt from the village to Skala Eresou via the small roads which connect the small holdings of Kambos. This olive grove was a little above the level of the road - although I did crouch a little lower to look through the field of flowers.
Just a standard Canon Ixus digital camera. I use the 'foliage' setting when I want better resolution.
Tips and Tricks
- Point & shoot rarely fails with such wonderful scenery - preferably morning or late afternoon if sun is bright. Ideally take from where the sun is on your left or right shoulder rather than directly behind you.
