Young & Poor Students and Backpackers Guide to Greece

By deTraci Regula, About.com

Short on money, long on energy? Here's how to enjoy Greece.

1. Hostels in Greece

Looking for cheap places to stay that offer great opportunities to meet other travelers? Then hostel-hopping may be just perfect for you.

2. easyCruise

Think a cruise is out of your reach? You may be wrong. Check out the easyCruise offerings for Greece. They book up fast, but if you can get a slot, you'll pay less per night than many hostels, and get the equivalent of free transportation to your next destination.

3. Hydrofoils and Ferries

Looking to really do it on the cheap? Take deck seating on the ferries. If your budget allows, try a cabin or go on one of the faster hydrofoils. But it never hurts to check airfares too - some island flights may be about the same price as a cabin on the ferry, and it takes much less time if that's a concern. If you're buying one of the cheaper ferry tickets, be sure to board early and stake out a couch or other comfy spot.
