Greek Island Cruise from Princess

Greek Island Cruise with Princess Cruises Embarks from Italy:

This 12-day cruise visits Corfu, Olympia (Katakolon), Athens,

Hitting the "Top Two" Greek Islands - Mykonos and Santorini:

While Greece has an abundance of great islands to visit, this trip concentrates on the usual - Mykonos and Santorini. It's great for your first trip to Greece, but if you've been here before, you may want something more unusual.

What I Like About the Princess Greek Island Cruise:

This cruise actually visits a number of Greek islands - some cruises call themselves "Greek Island Cruises" and make only one or two stops in Greece. While this one begins and ends in Italy, there are enough Greek destinations to truly call it a "Greek Island Cruise". Plus, Princess is an experienced cruise line and their ships are far superior to many smaller companies now plying the Greek waters.

What I'm Neutral About on the Princess Greek Island Cruise:

I favor Greek cruises that start and/or end in Greece, because there is so much more to see. But if you're combining this with a bigger trip to Europe, it's much better than skipping Greece entirely. Their shore excursions are a bit pricy, but may be the only way to get the most out of your limited time in port.

What I Don't Like About This Trip:

I don't have any specific issues with this cruise. But visiting Greece by big cruise ship is not for everyone. Sights tend to be crowded and you won't get as intimate an experience of Greece as you would by island-hopping on your own.

Look for Discounts:

The base price on this trip is not bad for what you get when compared with similar cruises. But shop around - some cruise consolidators are offering $500 or more off the prices listed at Princess Cruises' own website, especially for the upcoming May 2008 departure.
