Run in the Athens Marathon 2009

The Olympic Games are over, right? Yes and no. What many travelers miss is that each year there is a public Athens Marathon race following the original route used for the Olympics.

In 2008 the event will happen on November 9th..

Apostolos Greek Tours is the official North American representative for the Athens Marathon, and they provide several packages to make it easy to participate in the race while enjoying a great Greek getaway.

November 1st - November 112th
Price: US $2,395 (check directly for 2009 pricing)
Have some time to acclimatize and to enjoy Greece. This tour includes trips to Delphi, Mycenae, Sounion, and Epidavros, as well as extensive sightseeing in Athens.

6 Day/5 Night Athens Marathon Package
November 1st - November 7th

Price: US $1,496 (check directly for 2009 pricing)

This shorter option omits the extra trips from the schedule, but still provides substantial sightseeing in the Athens area.

3 Day/4 Night "Minimal Runner Support" Athens Marathon Package
November 2rd - November 6th
Price: US $788.00 (check directly for 2009 pricing)

All packages are land-only and do not include your airfare to and from Greece. They include most meals,all entry and processing fees for the event, and entrance fees to the monuments.
