Golf in Greece is finally getting kicked up a notch; Aegean Airlines has joined with the Porto Carras Resort to create the fourth annual Aegean Pro-Am tournament to be held on June 6-8 2009. Over fifty international teams consisting of one pro with three amateur players are expected to vie for prizes and prestige at the course.The previous Pro-Ams were held at the Crete Golf Club the newest of Greece's half-dozen golf courses, designed and built to international standards. Greece is looking to stimulate golf tourism in the coming years and while it needs a few more quality courses built to really qualify as a modern golfing destination, this is a good start.
