Guide Review - Komboloi Museum

For many years, worry beads were looked down upon as something a little too charming for modern Greeks. Recently, Greeks have reclaimed this tradition and the melodic clicking of worry beads can be heard almost everywhere, from boardrooms to bars. One of the most determined voices in praise of the worry bead has been Aris Evangelinou, who wrote a book entitled "The Komboloi and Its History" which has stimulated Greek interest in the common beads.

The Komboloi museum occupies an historic 18th-century two-story corner building in Nafplion, with the store and workshop on the ground floor and the museum displays on the second.
