New Year's Day in Greece, sometimes called Western New Year's Day. It's the feast of Saint Basil the GreatWidely celebrated everywhere. Some renowned observances are:

Feast of St. John the BaptistKatarini (Katafigion) - Prodomition observance

Gynokratia or "Day of the Midwives" where male and female roles are exchanged for the day. Observed at many towns; here are some of them:- Seres - Monoklissia and Nea Petra - exchange of male and female roles
- Seres - Strimi, Zilagani, Nea Kassani - exchange of male and female roles
- At the village of Aspro near Kilkis - exchange of male and female roles
