The Pangloss Bus

From deTraci Regula, About.com

Technically, a tour bus is not a "location" in Greece - but if you're taking one of the many possible coach tours, you may feel like it's your home in Greece.

Here, Irv and Georgia share a moment before piling back into the Pangloss Tours bus. While the one in the movie had no air conditioning, most of the tour buses in Greece are well-maintained and comfortable. Travel Tips: While bus tours in Greece may or may not be for everyone, they're an efficient way to see a lot of Greece in a short amount of time. If you want a vacation from driving, they can be one way to go. Also, many of the very inexpensive long-distance public buses are the cushier tour-type vehicles. If you want to avoid driving yourself to a particular location, but don't want to be stuck on a tour, the long-distance buses can be one way to get almost anywhere you want to go in Greece. Unfortunately, there isn't a good system of ordering tickets beforehand as each region has their own bus lines, so you'll usually have to go to the bus stations to make your arrangements once you're in Greece. It's helpful to bring a map and show where you ultimately want to go - this avoids possible confusion on similar place names, alternate spellings, and different pronunciations.
