In 2008, it was held in Syntagma Square September 10-October 1st, drawing thousands of visitors.
In addition to the main exhibits at Syntagma, a handful of other sites in Athens hosted events and displays all united by the green theme.
Even the festival program was produced by overprinting on cut-down back issues of the Athens Voice, a method which is even more friendly to the environment than recycling paper into new surfaces.
Eco-Chic Wows
The highlight of the show for many visitors was the extensive Eco-Chic fashion display where designers created new outfits using recycled materials. Most of the dresses displayed were high-fashion party clothes, none of which would have looked out of place on an actress emerging from a limousine. Personally, I feared it would all look like something constructed out of trash bags but these were inspiring designs.The Green Design festival is a creation of Brainlab, an independent not-for-profit corporation founded in 2007.
Part of the exhibits are forming a traveling show which will appear in other cities in Greece.
