This festival is held on the slopes of Mt. Siniatsiko, and it combines a green mentality with music and other events. While some of the acts are international, the majority of attendees are Greek, so if you want to experience a truly Greek event, this may be the one for you.
The lineup will evolve until the festival date.
There are also volunteer opportunities for those wanting to help put up festival booths and assist in other ways. Volunteers will be provided free camping and meals.
Other local attractions include centers devoted to the protection of bears and wolves.
Don't let the July date fool you - Vlasti is high in the mountains and gets cold at night.
Camping is free, and many of the concerts are free or require what they term a "symbolic" ticket. The community is behind the event and local restaurants and hotels are eager for the business, unlike some festivals where the locals would prefer otherwise.
Earth Festival 2011 Dates: Not yet announced; usually in mid-July
Other musical seminars and events follow, but the festival itself runs these dates.
