In early spring, sea turtle rescue preparations begin. While the Caretta caretta sea turtles are swimming around and finding mates, the Katelios Group workers (and other similar sea turtle rescue organizations througout Greece) start the preparations for the nesting season. This includes recruiting volunteers, updating information packets and leaflets, and getting the local environmental centers or information kiosks ready.

Special thanks to Manuel Coleman and the Katelios Group for providing information on the steps in sea turtle rescue and for providing photographs. Volunteer Opportunities for Turtle Rescue
