Greek Easter Egg Dyeing Picture by deTraci Regula; licensed to About.com
For best results, your eggs should be clean and dry and allowed to come to room temperature before dyeing. Plain white eggs will turn into bright red Greek Easter eggs. You can also experiment with brown or tan eggs. I love the solid red eggs, but some people draw on them with wax crayons or tie them up tightly with leaves or flowers in the saved toes of worn-out stockings. The plant materials will leave a blank outline on the egg.
