GREEK EASTER PACKAGE- Poros Island - April 28th - May 2 2005 (but confirm with operator) - In combination with a stay at the Saga hotel/apartments. The cost per person including the following events and 3 nights accommodation was about Euro 270.00 in 2004; contact the tour operator for 2005 prices. Airfare or other transportation to and from the island is not included.
Friday - 25th April - arrival on Poros Island - Check in to Saga Hotel. In the Evening after checking, a visit to see the "Epitaphios" procession. This normally happens around 8:30 pm and there are actually 3 or 4 Epitaphios that happen at the same time all setting off from the individual churches and ending up at the main Poros square (by the harbor and the Cafes).
Saturday - 26th April - A visit is possible to the Church in the Evening (before midnight) to witness the resurrection celebration and fireworks. After that a visit to one of the restaurants, to have the traditional soup of "Magiritsa".
Sunday - Easter Sunday - 27th April - At Saga, people participate in the preparation of the traditional barbecue, "Souvla", while unlimited local wine is provided. Once the "Souvla" is ready everyone sits down for the feast.
Monday - 28th April - departure from Saga, or stay on for more days to be arranged.
Please Note: The Single Supplement is +50% of the package cost. You can extend your stay before or after at the Saga Hotel or combine this Easter package with a stay in Athens or any other island of your choice. Cost for an extra night at the Saga is just €23.00 per person per night.
