Natural History Museum of Crete

By deTraci Regula, About.com

Explore the Fauna and Flora of Crete: A visit here can help make sense of the fascinating geology and rich variety of local plants and animals, many found nowhere else on earth.
Educational Programs are Fun for Kids: The Stavros Niarchos special exhibition hall is designed to involve children in the exhibits. Parents are free with a paid child's admission.
Visiting the Natural History Museum of Crete: With one of the richest ecosystems in the world, Crete has long deserved a larger natural history museum. When it is completed in late 2007 or early 2008, Crete will finally have a place where interested visitors can get a better grasp on the unique natural world of Crete.

The museum is located on the east side of the road to Knossos.
