Cook It Outside

Commercial cuisine is unknown in Avdou. A few tavernas feed the rare tourists, but most of the village keeps up older cooking traditions.
While this oven is fairly modern, it maintains the ages-old tradition of cooking outside. Archaeologists have yet to discover a Minoan "kitchen" in any of the palace complexes.
