Controversy over the Greek (or at least half-Greek) artists singing for Greece for Eurovision 2007 is heating up; you can reach some of the rumors and fan responses at .

Blasts from Greece's Eurovision Past

Helena Paparizou won Eurovision 2005 with her rousing song "My Number One", giving Greece the honor of hosting the Eurovision competition in Athens in 2006.

The event took place on May 18th, 2006 for the Semi-Finals and May 20th for the final competition. Anna Vissi was the singer for Greece in 2006, and the co-hosts for the event were Maria Menounos and Sakis Rouvas. The Finnish costumed group "Lordi" took the top honors, disappointing Greece. The Eurovision Official Website has additional schedule details for next year; these will become final closer to the event.

Musical groups from dozens of nations will participate, many of them chosen by competitions in their home countries that are nearly as passionate as the Eurovision contest itself.

For a taste of something similar to what you may see this year, watch some of Helena Paparizou's award-winning video. Note: this is not the version from Eurovision itself, which can only be seen on a paid download.
