For more than forty years, the Epidaurus Festival, part of the Hellenic Festival, has re-created ancient Greek classics at the beautiful and acoustically tremendous theater at Epidaurus. Don't miss this marvelous opportunity to experience theatre as the ancient Greeks did. Performances are in Greek but programs provide synopses in other languages.

Epidaurus Schedule 2012

Preliminary details of the 2012 festival have been released at the Hellenic Festival website. Check their home page for additional schedule details as they become available, usually in late spring which can make it tricky for advance planning. Other performances may take place outside of the formal Hellenic Festival, so check locally during your trip.

In 2012, at least eight performances are expected at the ancient theater of Epidaurus with additional events at the "Little Theater". But the festival, which in past years has even reached into early September, ends in mid-July, so schedule accordingly.
