A Greek Map Shop for Greek Map Lovers:
I remember the first time I found maps by Road Editions. I was with a group of map-loving people (you know who you are) and we had been bewailing the state of Greek maps. Now, as if in answer to our pleas, these new maps had appeared. I bought several of them, then dragged my companions back to the shop, blathering that there were finally some good maps of Greece available. We practically cleaned out the display in that small island shop and the proprietor was delighted. The very next day, one of those Greek maps saved us from a bad turn that would have made us miss a ferry and destroy our too-tight schedule for the next two days.
So the thought of an entire store devoted primarily to Road Edition maps of Greece and the Greek islands is a dizzying thought. I haven't passed through the doors of the large Athens store yet, but I frankly envy those that have. I did visit their smaller shop in Heraklion on the island of Crete, and it kept me happy for an hour. In the meantime, I snatch their maps up as I see them, with the goal of personally possessing every last Greek island - on paper at least.
