Special Olympics World Summer Games in Athens

Games will reuse many Olympic venues in 2011

The Special Olympics World Summer Games will take place in Athens, Greece in 2011. The event will take place between June 24th and July 4th in 2011.

Organizers expect over 7500 athletes, with thousands of coaches, supporters, and spectators.

Many of the special structures built for the 2004 Summer Olympic Games will be used during the events.

Athens hosted the 2004 Special Olympics after the Summer Olympic Games finished.
