A quick check of one major online flight booking service on July 27th shows bookable seats for a trip August 10th - August 25th departing from the West Coast of the U.S. (covering most of the Olympic Games period) hovering around US $1700 per person round-trip. I've seen "normal" quoted rates for this time of year easily exceed that.
I expected prices for Olympic seats to be in the US $2500 range - in fact, I double-checked to make sure these weren't rates for flights to Athens,Georgia. Another major on-line service had seats for the same dates starting at US $1212.
From the East Coast, rates are still better.
