Stay on Your Feet with this Tip
Step on the cracks

By deTraci Regula, About.com

Descending the path from the Acropolis in the dark, Vassilis paused. "It would be easier if you step on the cracks. Always put your feet on the cement, not on the marble stones."

With this simple adjustment, I was no longer slip-sliding away despite my well-soled hiking shoes. Try it. It works. It's natural to not want to step on the cracks and to choose the safer-looking flat marble stones, but believe me, they're not safer. And if the day (or night) is at all moist, the marble becomes even slippier.
