Don't Toss That Boarding Pass

I've just spent ten minutes on the phone reclaiming missing frequent flyer miles. With all the technology today, not to mention security concerns, you'd think this would be easy - give your name, they find your flights, confirm you were on them, post your miles.

But at least at this particular major American carrier, if I hadn't had my boarding passes, stubs, baggage stickers, and general flight ephemera all safely tucked away in my tax receipts bag, I would have been out of luck.

So keep all of that "evidence" of your flight - if your miles haven't been properly posted, the information on them may be the only way to claim your rightful miles.
