Government officials say that the new company name will be "similar" to the old one and that even the logo will stay the same. The airline was originally founded by Aristotle Onassis to provide access to obscure areas of Greece. In 1957 he gave the airline as a gift to Greece.
These changes were originally scheduled for April of 2006, but now it looks like they'll happen sometime in 2007 ... hopefully not during the peak tourist season.
