By deTraci Regula, About.com

Where is Paleo Faliro?:
Paleo Faliro is located along the Aegean Sea about five miles outside of Athens itself.
Why Should I Go to Paleo Faliro?:
This inexpensive seaside area offers access to beaches and doesn't feel as crowded as Athens. If you want to maximize your time spent by the sea while you're in Greece, this area could be a good choice for you.
Getting into Athens from Paleo Faliro:
There is public transportation into Athens itself, and the E 96 Airport Bus runs through Paleo Faliro, making it easy to go into Piraeus, which is a transport hub for getting to Athens itself.
Getting a Ferry out of Piraeus? You're almost there.:
If you plan on taking a Greek Island ferry from the port of Piraeus, Paleo Faliro is just south of Piraeus.
On a Yacht? Lucky you - you can dock here.:
There are two small harborshere for yachts and private craft.
The Downside of Paleo Faliro:
There isn't much to do here except go to the beach, which is the closest one to Athens. It's primarily a residential suburb for Athens.
