Peter Deilmann Cruises
Date: April 14th, 1999
Peter Deilmann Cruises, known for its specialty river cruises, announced that they are expanding into the luxury cruise domain and offering free airfare on most of their 1999 cruises, including some Greek destinations.
The new ship, the Grand Hotel, was built in 1998 and Deilmann president was quoted in a press release waxing poetic about the new flagship for the Peter Deilmann line.
"At a time when new ships are carrying thousands of passengers at once, where neon masquerades as glamour and endless corridors stretch as far as the eye can see, the Deutschland offers a Grand Hotel reminiscent of the grand era of cruise travel."
"She is a true ocean liner, newly constructed in 1998. Exquisitely appointed and graciously designed, the ship re-introduces the gleaming crystal chandelier, palm-filled winter garden and fine antiques. The splendor of the Edwardian period as well as the Roaring '20s are evoked through fine teak wood, etched glass, brass, marble, Tiffany ceilings and resplendent upholstery in the lounges."
