A staircase to heaven at the ancient Minoan palace of Knossos, where mythical King Minos lived and ruled.

The ancient Minoan palace of Knossos, where mythical King Minos lived and ruled. Here it was believed the Minotaur lived, in the heart of the labyrinthine corridors. Modern visitors still find it easy to become disoriented in the twisting ruins.
