Choose Your Cruise Update
Too late to go cruising this summer? No. There are still great options available, and the later, the better. One of the best travel seasons in Greece is about to begin, when the crowds have dissipated, the temperature has mellowed, and the prices have dropped. This is the great fall secret of Greece.Royal Olympic in many ways rules the seas of Greece, and offers some excellent short cruises, with 4-day "Aegean Classic" departure dates all the way through November. An alternate itinerary, Aegean Venture, runs through August. The 3-day "Aegean Hellenic" optionoffers dates through mid-November. The other 3-day option, the "Aegean Discovery" cruise runs through October. Longer cruises are also available.
Here's an unusual late fall option from Royal Olympic - a 21-day quator-crossing cruise that leaves FROM Athens and winds up in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Departure date is November 29th from Athens (November 28th if you fly in from New York). This cruise also offers enrichment lectures by experts. The downside is that there are no other stops in Greece, but it would be a great, leisurely way to end a grand journey.
