A new museum display has opened in an unlikely location - the Athens International Airport - Eleftherios Venizelos (Spata) . Now travelers passing through the airport can enjoy a glimpse of Greek culture through 172 artifacts which were found during the construction of the airport near Spata.

The exhibit is part of a larger effort to bring Greek culture to casual visitors. Even buses and trains may soon be outfitted with informative displays - so if you're determined to omit the rich cultural pleasures of Greece and just enjoy the more superficial fun and sun, it may soon be more difficult to do so.

Admission to the Museum is free. It's located upstairs above the Olympic Airlines ticketing area, not far from the McDonald's.
