"We got married in Greece in June 1999 and it was amazing!!! We are from Canada and arranged everything (paper work) through the Greek consulate. We had a travel agent, Angelo Tsarouchas, at Just Imagine Travel in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, who specialized in Greek holidays help us pick our destination.
Angelo connected us with Anna Bellonias at Santorini Villas. We stayed and were married at Santorini Villas in Vourvoulous on Santorini
Island in Greece. The Santorini Villas decorated and made our cake and supplied the champagne. We just had to
show up and get our own flowers, which we only could find one flower store on the island. The mayor of Fira
married us and we had a photographer, George Mendrinos of Photo Kamari, shoot the entire thing. We married on a patio overlooking beautiful
countryside and water. I also want to say that Santorini Villas helped us a lot with the arrangements of dinner, the photographer, the flowers, the mayor, everything. We really worried about nothing!!
After the ceremony the
photographer drove us around the island taking photos and then drove us to the caldera where we had a wonderful
dinner. It was the most amazing and fun wedding I have ever been to and would do it over again in a heartbeat.
The other bonus of our wedding in Greece is that it was surprisingly inexpensive. I think including our flight, hotels
(we spent 3 weeks there), spending money, car rentals, the wedding dress and everything involved (papers, cake,
flower, etc.) cost under $10,000 CAD."
