Fortunately, the Greek wine industry presents a major trade show every other year to improve awareness of the increasing quality and variety of Greek wines, promote networking, and encourage exports.
This year, Oenorama 2008 will offer the chance to taste over 600 different Greek wines from dozens of vineyards and manufacturers.
There may also be a selection of fine Greek olive oils available for tasting and comparing. Oenorama runs March 28th-30th, 2008.
The Oenorama website offers free pre-registration for the show. A number of seminars, mainly held in Greek, will focus on various aspects of Greek wines, from selecting the best glass shape for tastings to designing a bottle label. While most of these lectures are aimed at Greek wine industry professionals, guided tasting sessions and a national sommelier competition are also on the schedule. There are also ongoing wine tastings at the display booths.
