Virtually every Greek you meet has a nephew or cousin or son or daughter born in or living in the United States, Australia, Canada, or the U.K. Share where you're from and you'll constantly be answered with "Ah yes, my cousin lives in Milwaukee - my brother has an olive oil company in California - my sister runs a restaurant in Vancouver - I used to live in London -" All of this combines to provide a very genuine welcome for open-minded and open-hearted foreign travelers.
If history makes your heart beat fast, no other nation is as proud of its past as Greece, offering a wide array of fascinating places, splendid museums, and historic monuments, virtually all of them curated in multiple languages for the enjoyment of the visitor.
