In any case, Felix isn't regretting the decision. Since opening in May, just ahead of the summer season, this small nightclub or medium-sized bar is offering music, swirling lights, premium drinks, and a fun attitude. Behind the bar, local bartending legend "Harry the Legend" pours the drinks; in a time when calling for a Kahlua and cream could mean receiving a watery coffee liqueur combined with two percent milk, the Kahlua, the cream, and the competent bartender were all genuine on my visit a few days after opening night.
Like all the nightlife on Crete and in the rest of Greece, things don't get going until around midnight; earlier in the evening visits might give you a chance to scout out a prime location, but you won't get even a fraction of the experience.
Just drink responsibly and avoid drunken revels at the cliffside; it's a steep drop down into Matala Bay.
