Even in this Olympic year, there are some great bargains for Greece.

Brendan Tours, always an inexpensive option, is continuing their air-included coach tours of Greece throughout the summer, skipping only three weeks in August to avoid the Olympic crunch. Even the first week of August, a nine-day air-included trip will just put you back US $2163 per person, and earlier trips are less. Departures include

For a more adventurous approach, Northwest Passage is offering a hefty 25% off all of their May and June trips in Greece. If you've had a yen to go inn-to-inn kayaking along the beautiful southern coast of Crete, this may be the time to drop everything and go. For the true last-minute traveler, pop over for May 15th-22 and May 23-30th. The discount also applies to their already low-priced Teacher's Week June 14-21, a special Family Week June 20-27th, and the new Singles Week June 1-8th. Airfare itself is extra, but most meals, all sightseeing, equipment, instruction, and airport transfers are included.

Zeus Yacht Tours
Often less costly than "big" cruise ships, travel by yacht is a great way to relax, unpack only once, and yet see a selection of islands and sights while traveling on a large envy-inducing yacht that turns heads when it arrives in port. They offer several options; the Aegean Mosaic covers the most must-see destinations in Greece, starting on Crete and continuing on to Santorini and Rhodes before circling back to Heraklion.

Seven-day cruises start at US $1690 per person for an inside cabin, including port taxes. Departure dates include May 21 & 28 and June 4, 11, 18, and 25, with additional dates in July, August (even during the Olympics), and September.
