Unfortunately for pre-planners, advance tickets are only available beginning three weeks before the performance date. Some performances do sell out; get tickets early. Most hotels and travel agents can assist in obtaining tickets. They can also help you find bus tours for performances.
Performances generally start at 9pm - confirm with the ticket office.
Remember, you will be sitting outside for the duration of the play. It's a good idea to dress warmly and to bring a blanket; repeat visitors bring an extra cushion.
When looking up additional information online, note that alternate spellings of Epidaurus include Epidavros, Epidoros, and Epidauros.
If you drive to Epidaurus, watch the signs. N. Epidaurus will take you to Nea Epidaurus, the modern town, not to the ancient site. Traffic can be heavy late at night when the play is over; drive carefully.
Bargain minded? The upper level is available for half off the regular ticket price. Discounts are also available for parents with large families.
