Knossos Closing Dateline Crete:Hello from the beautiful island of Crete. Today started with a visit to the "Ring of Minos" exhibit at the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, then continued with a visit to Knossos. News you can use: the site will be closing in October to allow time for pre-Olympic renovations. Can't make it to Knossos during your trip? Try substituting Phaistos, the lesser-known but equally enchanting Minoan "palace". Today is breezy, with temperatures in the 70s, fantastic clear skies, and sunshine. It's good. It's Greece.
