No, it's not a first edition Lonely Planet or Rough Guide, so leave those on your shelf. Abe.com, a seller of books both rare and common, included the $25,000+ sale of a copy of Marie Gabriel August Choiseul-Gouffier's "Voyage pittoresque de la Grèce", an extensively illustrated work in three volumes published between 1782 to 1822. It's an extraordinary early travel account and so impressed Choiseul-Gouffier's readers that the he was later appointed Ambassador to Constantinople on the strength of this work. While I personally think that money might have been more enjoyably spent on a modern trip to Greece, I love books and I'm always glad to see Greece well-valued.
