"Starvation Recipes" Cookbook Tops Lists in Greece

It's not often that a cookbook devoted to the bottom tier of cooking makes headlines - but Greeks are rushing to embrace a cookbook enshrining some very "austere" recipes.

While it is only in Greek so far, the book by Eleni Nikolaidou draws from other times in Greece's history when food options were slim - and while the current Greek financial crisis doesn't match the German Occupation of the 1940s or the rigors of the civil war that followed, there are enough similarities to make it ring true.
