I'm stoked to see that the classic episode chosen to precede Anthony Bourdain's much-heralded 100th episode celebration of "No Reservations" on the Travel Channel Monday night is the one shot in Greece in 2007, featuring foods on Crete and Zakynthos. The more people who are reminded of Greece's many - and increasing - pleasures as a foodie destination, the better.
I admit I'm particularly pleased this episode was chosen for such a prime spot since I recommended a Greek yogurt connection to one of Bourdain's companions in the episode - writer and chef Byron Ayanoglu, author of the excellent Crete on the Half Shell which I regularly prescribe as a near-sure cure for anyone writing to me who suffers from the potentially-financially-fatal "I love Greece so much I want to go to a Greek island and open up a taverna!" syndrome. Byron also produced Algis Kemecys' award-winning documentary shot in Greece, Mimetoliths.

Hello deTracy
I love reading my name in your wonderful site. How are you?
As usual I’ll be in ‘the area” from Sept. to next April.
Maybe we can hook up and finally meet.
Thanks for being you. Greece needs you and so does the whole world.
cheers and yiassou
