Good news - if it holds. The security guards at the Acropolis have come to an agreement and the iconic monument of Greece will be open for Tuesday night's popular "Full Moon in August" celebration.
A pay dispute has now been resolved, and visitors will be able to enter the monument Tuesday evening and enjoy the sight of the Parthenon by the light of the full moon.

We are on our honeymoon and went to the Acropolis during the day and were told about the opening in the evening. We headed up there at 11:30 pm and there were massive crowds stills – took us over 15 min to get up with quick navigation thru the crowds. Once on top it was a spectacular sight and no lights were on and was just lit by the full moon until midnight when the lights were turned back on. We stayed until 1:30 am. Certainly a once in a lifetime experience for a visitor.
