Suspected Spy Allegedly Jumps Bail in Cyprus

When I wrote up the blog post below yesterday, it seemed like a very bad idea to let a suspected spy out on bail even if authorities took the drastic step of keeping his passport. So I'm not surprised that it is now being reported by CNN and other sources that Christopher Robert Metsos has failed to report in to police as promised, and is believed to have fled to parts unknown.

Interested in a little espionage tourism? You might want to check out - or check into - the Achilleos Hotel & Apartments in Larnaca, where it is believed Metsos stayed for the two weeks prior to his arrest, release, and disappearance. As the accused "money man", he looks like he was quite the frugal spy! Rates run about 40 Euro a night, making this a great location for all your discount spying needs.
