Aegean Airlines, in what could be one of its final special offers before the planned merger with Olympic Air, is offering some great prices on flights to, from, and around Greece.
As I've mentioned to some readers, flights between islands may actually be cheaper in some cases than the ferries and hydrofoils. For early or late in the season travel, they can also be more reliable as they are not usually subject to cancellations due to winds and high seas.
Aegean Airlines shows prices for some flights in Euros, while flights originating in Britain are shown in British pounds. Be sure you notice which currency applies to you when calculating your savings.
Can we fly between Athens and Milos this summer? Olympic schedules stop at the end of March 2010.

Yes, you will be able to fly between Athens and Milos this summer. The schedules will be revised for the later spring/summer period. The Olympic Air-Aegean Airlines merger will also be affecting flight schedules, but nothing should drop off the schedule completely.
You can also reach Milos by ferry from Athens, of course, if you want a back-up plan.
Well, the non so popular domestic lines in Greece are now going to be operated by http://www.athensairways.gr
So, for example to KYTHIRA island it will be Athens Airways flying . To Milos probably Olympic, however, keep an eye on both airlines website. They always anounce late their schedules to destinations that there is no much competition.
Not true. The subsided island routes get re-distributed at the end of the month. So it is not known if Athens Airways will continue them or if Olympic, Aegean, or a different airline will win them.
