Self-proclaimed "ultra luxury line" Seabourn Cruises travels to dozens of ports around the world, including those in Greece - and so I was pleased that Peter Cox, their head of itinerary development and a world traveler for the past 40 years, said in a recent interview that Volos is his favorite port stop for the deluxe new ship, the Seabourn Odyssey. "If I had to pick a favorite I would have to say Volos, Greece. From here you can visit the monasteries of Meteora. These astonishing monuments can truly be described as awe-inspiring, ranking up there with Petra in Jordan, Borobudur on Java or the pyramids at Giza."
