Swine Flu in Greece - Single Case Confirmed

Monday May 18, 2009
Greece, which so far has avoided the swine flu, has confirmed that a student who just returned from the United States has a mild case of the disease, Reuters reports.

Greek authorities have reiterated that they have ample doses of flu treatments available in case of a more serious outbreak.

Should fear of swine flu in Greece affect your travel plans? At this point, your greatest risk of exposure is while you're back home in the U.S. or Canada, both of which have reported hundreds or thousands of cases.

Still worried? Carry a small quantity of alcohol-based gel hand-sanitizer with you. Not sure who sat in your airplane seat before you? You may also want to consider something like Plane Sheets to cover your seat, or some of these other safety- and health-conscious traveler's gadgets for Greece.
