On this Day in Greece - October 26th
Friday October 26, 2007
Renowned Greek writer Nikos Kazantzakis author of "Zorba the Greek", "The Last Temptation of Christ" and many other works, died on this day in 1957. His epitaph reads "I hope for nothing. I fear nothing. I am free." These are probably his most widely-read words, as they are now on a popular T-shirt sold throughout Greece.
