Louis Cruises Joins with easyCruise

Saturday September 23, 2006
Louis Cruises and easyCruise have joined forces to start offering a new kind of cruise in Greek and Mediterranean waters. Louis Cruises has largely taken over the 3-, 4-, and 7-day Greek cruise where their only competition has been Golden Star Cruises.

The charismatic entrepreneur Stelios Haji-Ioannous founded the low-cost airline easyJet in 1995, and has applied a similar formula to easyCruise.

Ships are not as important as the destinations, and you can hop on for a minimum of just two nights, so an easyCruise ship in the Greek islands can also be used for transportation. They also schedule the ship departures to allow time to fully sample the nightlife at most ports.

The new Greek version of of Louis and easyCruise should hit the water in 2008 or 2009. easyCruise intends an inaugural cruise on its own in 2007. No word on pricing yet, but Caribbean prices start at about US $30 a day per person - and no, I didn't leave off a zero.
