Shake (and then bake?) on Crete
Monday July 31, 2006
A 4.4 earthquake struck the Heraklion, Crete area early yesterday, shaking up the island and About.com's Greek food guide, Nancy Gaifyllia. "It was a good shake here," Nancy told me, but there were no reports of injuries or damage - except to her good night's sleep.
Minor earthquakes are common in Greece, but thanks to strict building codes, they rarely result in injuries or damage.
