NEL Greek Ferry Line Scandal

Friday July 28, 2006
Santorini's banded cliffsHave you made a booking on NEL on the Aeolos Kenteris for ferry travel to Santorini? The president of the company has gone missing in the wake of an investigation into the company taking money for places on an unapproved, non-existent ferry route to Santorini, eKathimerini reported on Thursday.

Not sure about your tickets? The official NEL English-language website was not working at my visit, but here's a link to their Greek-language one and another non-official English language version.

Even if you have one of the "bad" tickets, the company is publicly promising a free trip on a real ferry route for anyone who has booked on the Santorini run. That same route from the port of Piraeus was slated to visit Paros and Naxos on the way to the beautiful island of Santorini.
