French Hire Greek Ferry for Lebanon Evacuations

Tuesday July 18, 2006
The French government has hired the Dane Sea Lines ferry Ierapetra to evacuate citizens from Lebanon. The Ierapetra has a checkered history of late - it was just damaged by AEK football fans in May, who caused 150,000 Euro in damages on a run between Heraklion and Rafina. It will be carrying evacuees to the city of Larnaka on Cyprus.
