Olympic Airlines Assists in Evacuation Efforts from Lebanon

Monday July 17, 2006
Olympic Airlines planeThe Greek government has engaged Olympic Airlines to make special flights into and out of Damascus to evacuate Greek embassy personnel and others fleeing from beleaguered Beirut. Other special Olympic Airlines flights may be made into Jordan to evacuate Greeks who have managed to cross the border. These special flights are not expected to have any impact on regular operations of routinely-scheduled domestic and international flights at Olympic Airlines.

Other international evacuation efforts by air and sea may go through the island nation of Cyprus; again, any impact on ordinary tourist travel is expected to be minimal, but if you are traveling in Cyprus, you may want to call to confirm ship or plane reservations.
