Canadian Flights to Greece

Sunday March 26, 2006
Air Transat is not a well-known airline to most, but beginning in spring, the carrier offers flights to Athens from Toronto and Montreal (not Ottawa as previously reported!). If you're trying to fly from Canada to Greece, it's worth checking out.

Tip: the search system on the Air Transat homepage is a bit clunky if you're looking for general date ranges rather than a specific date. You'll want to hit "Advanced Search" even if what you're looking for seems pretty basic, and select "Europe" followed by "Greece", then "Athens" when you're on the calendar page to see when flights are available.

But one thing I really like is that they list the flight prices without taxes followed immediately by the prices with the taxes included. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of digging for the "real" price buried in the fine print, or being tempted by a low-cost flight only to see it shoot up 30% by the time that credit card information page comes up. And remember, these prices are in Canadian dollars rather than U.S. dollars.
